DIY Kitchens Factory Tour

Our Latest production for www.diy-kitchens.com introduces their state of the art factory via a film shot on location early in July 2012. The action is supported by an informative voice over explaining DIY Kitchens customer service and investment in equipment.
The film was shot over two days and features point of view camera work which improves the viewing experience. Shots were also enhanced by elevating our cameras and cameramen in a cherry picker.

Welcome to DIY Kitchen’s state of the art manufacturing facility. One of the most advanced kitchen production factories in the UK.

Our factory here in Yorkshire has the capacity to produce your kitchen within 2 to 3 weeks from ordering, using some of the most innovative manufacturing and automated processes in the industry.

Delivering a first class product using European manufacturing techniques giving the best possible price, direct to you, online.
Our helpful kitchen specialists can guide you through the online purchasing process. They can be contacted via phone and e-mail and can deal with any questions and queries you have at any point before, during or after your kitchen order.

Once your order is received it’s double checked to ensure you’ve remembered everything you’ll need to complete your installation

And once the order and delivery date has been confirmed the kitchen is put into production.

At diy-kitchens.com we manufacture and deliver fully rigid, showroom quality kitchens direct to you, our customers, within 2-3weeks.    And it all starts here...........

The kitchen cabinets are made to order – with over 1000 different cabinet options.     18mm fully colour co-ordinated mfc is cut  .. up to 6 sheets at a time  … by the saw team. They operate our state of the art saw that cuts with a tolerance of 0.1mm.

This means you can choose from a wide range of co-ordinated unit colours to match your kitchen style … with no price variation

All cabinet panel front edges are finished in 2mm ABS … much more robust and resistant to chipping than alternative edging materials

Specialist machinery has been installed to allow curved and L-Shaped units to be manufactured with the same flawless, hardwearing finish.

Finished panels are picked for your kitchen … and every cabinet is custom-made to order.

The panels are fed into our latest automated cabinet assembly line, with the capacity to produce 2,500 cabinets a week.

This 1.5 million pound investment is the only machine  of its type in the UK and one of the most advanced in Europe

Customer orders are sent directly from our order processing software to the assembly line, where Cabinet programs are called up and panels
fed into this machine in order......

Horizontal components are precision end drilled and glue and dowels inserted automatically as required to ensure accurate assembly.

Cabinet components such as leg bosses, worktop brackets and hinge plates are auto inserted for accuracy – including over five different types of drawer runners.

Once this point is reached our cabinet assembly team takes over, making sure everything fits exactly as it should be, with particular attention to the accuracy and the detail of each unit assembly.

The cabinets are clamped under pressure to ensure solid, square and rigid assembly

The experienced assembly team fit the doors, drawers and wirework mechanisms, once the cabinets have been rotated and stood up.

Barcode recognition technology makes sure the right doors and drawer fronts are automatically delivered to the cabinet assemblers, with the fitments already inserted by our custom-built machinery.

Before despatch every kitchen undergoes a rigorous quality inspection by the despatch team.    The robust packing is designed to give maximum protection to your cabinets.

Your order is checked and checked again throughout the manufacturing process, and final checks are carried out to ensure everything is brought together – including worktops and appliances – before loading in sequence ready for despatch to you.
